Dating to 1995, the Papillon is one of Louis Vuitton's most recognizable vintage silhouettes, named for the French word for “butterfly.” Its cylindrical shape gives it a completely different personality from the Speedy while still carrying the unmistakable Monogram canvas and natural leather trim associated with classic Louis Vuitton.
What makes this set especially collectible is the matching miniature Papillon. This set presents in very good vintage condition for its 1995 age.
The Monogram coated canvas remains rich and well-defined with strong overall structure and no obvious major cracking visible in the provided photographs. The cylindrical body maintains its characteristic shape nicely.
The natural leather trim and handles have developed a warm honey patina with visible age-related darkening, rubbing and surface wear. Piping shows expected wear, particularly along exposed edges. Gold-tone hardware shows light surface wear and age-related patina.
The interior appears clean overall for its age with light signs of previous use.
The Mini Papillon is included, with its Monogram canvas, leather piping, strap and hardware showing age-appropriate wear. Its presence is an important part of this particular set.

The mini is what makes me want this one.
A vintage Monogram Papillon is already one of those instantly recognizable Louis Vuitton shapes—but finding the larger bag with its matching miniature companion still together decades later gives the set an entirely different collector appeal.
And 1995 puts this piece right into the era of Louis Vuitton I love sourcing: classic Monogram, beautifully aged leather and construction that has already proven it can survive decades.
There is also something very current about this silhouette again. The cylindrical east-west shape feels surprisingly modern, while the tiny matching Papillon gives you that playful archival detail newer bags often try to recreate.
I wouldn't separate this set. Together is exactly what makes it special.
