Condition Report
This vintage piece presents in good pre-owned condition with age-appropriate wear.
The black leather shows visible creasing, wrinkling and surface wear throughout, particularly across the quilted panels and around the sides and edges. There is rubbing and softening to the piping, including wear along the perimeter and corners.
The quilting remains clearly defined and the raised CC remains prominent. The leather has developed the softened, slightly glossy appearance characteristic of a well-loved vintage piece.
The gold-tone hardware retains a rich gold appearance with visible surface wear and patina consistent with age and use. The leather woven through the chain shows wear, including a small area of visible abrasion. The tassel remains intact and makes a beautiful statement.

Everyone knows the flap. But when I'm sourcing vintage Chanel, pieces like this are what stop me.
It has everything I want from late-'80s/early-'90s Karl Lagerfeld Chanel: oversized quilting, a bold CC, gold hardware and a completely unnecessary—and completely fabulous—tassel.
And at just over seven inches long, it isn't trying to be practical. It's trying to be Chanel.
That's part of what makes archival pieces like this so interesting. Chanel wasn't simply producing variations of the same recognizable handbag. There was humor, drama and experimentation in the accessories—and those unusual pieces become increasingly difficult to find decades later.
