Very good pre-owned condition 8.10. The black grained calfskin remains rich and well preserved with light creasing, surface wear and natural softening from use. The extended side wings retain their dramatic shape while showing the relaxed movement expected of the Phantom's construction. Handles show light creasing and surface wear, with minor rubbing visible around the handle bases, piping and lower edges.

Black-tone hardware shows light surface wear. The suede interior presents with visible nap variation, rubbing and light marks consistent with previous use. Interior zipper pocket and side securing straps appear intact. Overall, this is a notably clean example of a large-format Phantom with strong structure and presentation.

Curator’s Perspective

This is one of the bags that immediately identifies the Phoebe Philo Celine era. The scale is unapologetic, the branding nearly disappears, and the entire design depends on proportion, leather and construction. The 22-inch wing span gives it the dramatic silhouette collectors want from the Phantom, while black-on-black makes an already architectural bag feel even more sculptural. It is an important Celine design that now reads as an archival piece rather than simply an oversized tote.
