The Cabat is one of those bags where the construction is the luxury. There is no oversized logo or statement hardware—the identity of the bag comes from Bottega Veneta's extraordinary Intrecciato weaving and the amount of handwork required to create it.
This version takes the Cabat somewhere much more unusual. Rather than being woven entirely from leather, burgundy leather is interwoven with rich tonal velvet, creating a pattern that almost resembles an abstract animal print from a distance. Up close, the contrast between smooth leather and plush velvet gives the weave incredible dimension and texture. The velvet detailing continues onto the handle bases, making the fabrication an intentional part of the entire design rather than simply an accent.
The Cabat itself is considered one of Bottega Veneta's defining collector bags. It is constructed as an essentially unlined woven tote, allowing you to see the craftsmanship from both the exterior and interior. Condition Report
Good pre-owned condition 7.8/10 visible wear consistent with use and the delicate mixed-material construction. The woven exterior retains its rich burgundy coloration and overall integrity, with visible rubbing, surface wear and finish loss concentrated primarily along the lower corners, edges and raised portions of the weave.
The velvet portions show areas of flattening and wear to the pile, while the leather strips display scattered scuffing and edge wear. There is additional rubbing at the base and corners, including several lighter areas where the leather finish has worn. The handles remain well-shaped with light surface wear. The bag retains its intentionally relaxed, softly structured Cabat silhouette.
